History and beauty make a delightful combination . . .

. . . at the Overlook Garden.  This area is steeped in history, because it was planted under the direction of founders Cason and Virginia Callaway, and is one of the most beautiful places on Earth during Spring when the thousands of azalea shrubs bear vibrant blooms. With the help of azalea expert Fred Galle, more than 700 varieties of cultivated azaleas were carefully selected and planted here years ago. Over time, the garden has grown and changed naturally, and visitors have made a visit to this garden a rite of Spring.
