The Southern Gardening Symposium has a long-standing tradition of bringing professional speakers on topics geared toward gardening in the South. In addition to the lectures, the program offers a complete one-stop gardening marketplace and exciting optional workshops!

The overarching theme this year includes the best plants for the South and how to design gardens with them.  Discover the best roses from: the national coordinator for the EarthKind™ roses; the best clematis from Lyndy Broder; the best fruits for the South by Dr. Dave Creech; and Bodie Pennisi will share the Gold Medal perennials and annuals from UGA’s trials.  Topics also include putting a garden together from all angles; setting the stage for three seasons of gardening and entertaining by Chuck Henry, director of the Southeastern Flower Show; the art of designing gardens at night with light with Amanda Lewis from NiteLites Outdoor Lighting; color theory in a garden by Shannon Pable; garden design by award-winning author, Peter Loewer.
